Software for creating and viewing landscapes.
Okay, we’ve been caught in flagrante with Maya 3D landscapes doing, or rather quarreling with its parameters to get something … completely flat and with a bucket in the middle like a mountain. Faced with this disaster, we started looking for something simpler to use and we have a great generator photorealistic 3D landscapes, very intuitive and extremely powerful.
15 minutes later, we were stunned at the sight of virtual landscapes that just generated with the help of the map of fractal terrain, highly detailed textures, volumetric atmospheres, dynamic lighting and sculpted mountains, all rendered by its powerful engine 3D. In other words, you can create beautiful 3D landscapes with its mountains, valleys, waters and streams, clouds, shadows and fog, with very realistic effects.
Once you have chosen the method of generating the fractal, we can generate the map and tinker with altimeter, add water changing color, reflection from the sun or simulate waves before passing into the atmosphere, where we will continue with clouds, altitude, color and intensity. As for lighting, we can obtain the desired effects of shadow and light by changing the orientation of the sun and its height.
Finally, Terragen takes advantage of QuickTime, offering the ability to save the image in a number of different formats, such as BMP, JPEG, MacPaint, Photoshop, PICT, PNG, Image QuickTime, SGI, TGA and TIFF, with parameters each own compression format. In addition, it uses a system based on OpenGL 3D preview, so you can change your perspective in real time.
