LaunchControl is a frontend of launchd (8) that allows you to manage and debug system and user services on your Mac. All the documented features of launchd (8) are compatible. It reports potential problems even before a job starts and always ensures that you create valid configurations.
Invalid services are highlighted and a description of the problem is provided. You can enable or disable services with a single click. The same happens with the loading, unloading and ad hoc start. A long list of jobs can be filtered by the name of the job and / or several properties, helping you find what you are looking for in an instant.
But LaunchControl is not just another .plist editor. Provides a dedicated interface for each launchd configuration key. The interface is adapted. Displays only the relevant information for the selected job. Do not waste time trying to find out why a job does not behave as expected.
LaunchControl performs a thorough analysis of your work and is likely to find the problem in an instant and tell you how to fix it. It provides most of the functionality of the launchctl command line utility, everything you need to create, edit, delete or debug launch services and even includes a log viewer, so you do not have to activate Console.app and create custom queries
Sometimes it is convenient to load, download, start or stop a job on demand without looking for it in LaunchControl every time.
QuickLaunch is a small extra menu that lives in your menu bar. It contains a list of selected works and their respective status.
To add a job to this menu, select it in LaunchControl and select Work> QuickLaunch in the menu. This menu option will be verified to indicate that the work has been
additional. Clicking again will remove the job from the QuickLaunch menu again. launchd currently supports more than 36 documented keys.
LaunchControl facilitates its discovery. Each key in the palette panel is annotated, so you do not have to consult the man page. Search
by category, name or description. Once found, drag an item from the palette section to the configuration section to add this key.
